Similarly to the spine of a book, our spines are what provide us with stability. Chiropractic yields specialized care to this and more within our bodies. How does one become a Chiropractor? Continue reading to find out!
Also called doctors of chiropractic, chiropractors are known for using methods to align body misalignments within the joint, spine, and more. This care is efficient in providing pain relief and assistance to individuals seeking holistic and non-invasive treatments.
In order to become a chiropractor, an individual must attend chiropractic school to receive a Doctor of Chiropractic degree. During this degree, students will take courses in anatomy, biology, pathology, and other classes rooted in science.
Students are required to have lab and clinical hours in order to graduate. This is where students will undergo a hands-on approach to practice.
Once a student has taken and passed all the required courses for the degree, one must then pass a licensure board. The test is known as the National Board of Chiropractic Examiners and has four parts. Remember, licensure and testing are often different among various states, therefore, additional testing may be required.
There are 16 chiropractic schools within the United States, will you be attending? Let the Lowcountry Chiropractic team know! Until then, we are thankful for our customers and love taking care of each of you!
